Concussion awareness

Cagoga and Neuroshield

Card game and concussion awareness

Cagoga is a card game I designed following my recovery from a rugby concussion. I developed its gameplay and card concepts around characters, symptoms, attacks, healing, and support, drawing on experiences such as headaches and imbalance. Its purpose is to increase concussion awareness and help people discuss symptoms, recovery, and the support they need.

Neuroshield is the wider concussion awareness initiative through which I share Cagoga, organise outreach, and advocate for better concussion responses in schools. I have shared the game with hospitals, educational communities, and libraries.

Our recipient list, contains 31 hospitals and healthcare organisations, 10 schools, universities and student groups, and 70 libraries or library services.

We have been acknowledged by Eton College and featured in OurCulture Magazine and Made In Shoreditch.

Classics

Stories from Ovid

I translated and self-published a selection of Ovid’s writing, placing the Latin beside my English translation for GCSE and A-level learners.

Read synopsis

Stories from Ovid is a parallel-text Latin-English translation, presenting Ovid’s original writing alongside my English translations. Readers can compare the two languages directly, exploring how meaning, tone, and wordplay move between them. Through this project, I sought to balance accuracy with readable English while preserving the literary character of the original.

Herodotus’ Short Stories

I translated and self-published selected stories from Herodotus’ Histories, pairing the Greek with English for GCSE and A-level learners.

Read synopsis

An exploration of historiographical method through short narrative studies drawn from Herodotus’ Histories. The project interrogates how ancient authors constructed causality, character, and cultural encounter and what those choices reveal about the boundaries of knowledge in the ancient world. The English-Greek side by side text aids in the understanding of the beauty of the ancient Greek language.
